Apple has launched ita all new iPod touch with A10 Fusion chip and features like Group FaceTime. It comes in three storage variants — 32GB, 128GB and 256GB priced at ₹18,900,  ₹28,900 and ₹38,900 respectively. Also, it is available in six colours namely space grey, white, gold, blue, pink and (PRODUCT)RED.

As of now, there is no word on when the new iPod will be launched in India but we may expect it to arrive sometime sometime in June first week, as per sources. In a host of other countries, it will be available online starting today and will hit retail shelves later this week.

The iPod touch features a 4-inch display and has two cameras — one at the front and other at the rear. The rear camera is an 8MP module with f/2.4 aperture whereas the front camera is a 1.2MP sensor.

The Cupertino-based tech giant claims that the new new iPod touch comes “with enhancements to power, capability and communication”. The 10 Fusion chip brings improved performance in games and AR experiences for the first time.

This is, according to Apple, the “cheapest device” to run on iOS. Apple, with the iPod touch is targeting gamers in a big way as its gaming subscription service is expected to hit later this year. Called Apple Arcade, it promises to have over 100 new and exclusive games with no ads or additional purchases, and the ability to download games for offline play.

In addition to this, Apple is also looking to give it AR apps a boost with the iPod touch.

This is after a gap of four years that a new iPod has been launched by Apple. The last — and the only iPod before the new model — iPod to launch was the sixth-generation iPod touch that was launched back in July 2015. Interestingly, in 2017, Apple had officially discontinued all other iPod models and just kept the iPod touch in circulation.
